Short Summary: Gary Forbes (18 at the time) had been out with three other friends and was on his way to catch a train when he was confronted by a another group. An attack ensued and, to try and escape, he jumped from a 20-foot high (little over 6m) bridge. He suffered head injuries and was in critical condition in the hospital, even requiring emergency surgery. An SLDP councill at the time was quoted as saying "I believe the young person was a goth and another group of young people chased him and to try and escape he jumped off the footbridge at the Hilton hotel.". Arrests were made at the time.
