Short Summary: This is an account which was first shared on the Bitaites blog. The writter knows Lipa and was present at the Hospital for part of the happening. Lipa (23 at the time) went with her boyfriend to the hospital due to a UTI, which caused a lot of pain and a high fever. Lipa refers that the she felt the doctor had a cold attitute and only "looked her up and down and just asked for tests". She had blood taken, and an HIV test was done, without her knowledge. According to the Hospital, this was done due to her high white-cell count and it is common practice to not inform the patient, to avoid unnecessary stress. She should have been informed of these exams later on, but according to the author of Bitaites, such didn't happen, and she was only informed on which tests have been performed (such as the HIV test as well as a pregnancy test) because she demanded to see them. The UTI test was refused. Cascais hospital required her to go to the hospital where she was first diagnosed to bring the analysis she had first gotten, which is something the hospital itself could require. They advised her to bring the analysis to her family doctor, which is something that can take months (and Lipa didn't have a family doctor due to have recently moved to a different area). Lipa ended up going the hospital with her boyfriend again, this time accompanied by the author of the post (which is her boyfriend's father), again without sucess. During the ordeal, the author of the Bitaites blog mentions that Lipa suffered a "dry and blunt treatment", to which the administration head of the hospital answered "if that really happened I am sorry but it's hard for me to believe, as the orientations of the hospital is to treat everyone the same way" and asked for understanding due to the tiredness of hospital staff.
